NEON ON NEON

In the midst of packing for my US/South American summer, I couldn't help but take a moment to snap my latest neon crushes(s).

Lots of excitement fast approaching.

This time next week, I'll be kicking back, relaxing (or possibly recovering) from what is set to be an indulgent weekend of bridal festivities.

Dress and shoes sorted, now all that's missing is the company.

Can't wait for my friends from all corners to fly into Melbourne and help me celebrate.

I'm definitely a high heels kind of gal, so you could consider me a late-comer to the fashion sneaker party, Isabel Marant kicked off.

As soon as I set my eyes on this incredible Shona Joy dress, It called me to experiment with my twist on the gorgeous sports luxe editorials I've seen in every magazine and on every blog of late.

These high top wedge sneakers add the perfect touch of street cred to complete my sporty look, whilst fulfilling my need for a shoe with some height.

My first pair of fashion sneakers, but certainly not my last.

I've been converted.

OMBRE DENIM

Every wardrobe needs at least one denim shirt in my opinion. I now have a few, so I tend to look for differences in colour and wash. This is my first ombre denim shirt and it's oversized boyfriend style works perfectly buttoned up and tucked into shorts or simply thrown over a dress like this.

It's now just over two weeks before I pack up and head off overseas.

There is definitely something to be said about the 'travel bug'. Once it's bitten, each time you're hoping to visit just one more city, just one month longer. I'm well and truly hooked and love discovering new places, meeting new people and leaving my mark.

THE PEPLUM TOP

I've long been a fan of peplum shapes, with dresses and blazers filling my wardrobe, but surprisingly, this is the first peplum top.

It is such a flattering silhouette and works dressed up or dressed down. Trend or no trend, peplum will be a regular wardrobe addition.

FLORAL JEANS

My latest obsession is anything is this cotton candy pink colour, and this Something Else shirt is absolute perfection. It seems to work back with everything in my wardrobe, especially these floral jeans.

At the moment, I'm eyeing off a Josh Goot dress is the same colour, which I think will be the perfect party dress for my bridal shower which isn't too far off now.

Three more weeks, 'til I board a plane bound for the U S of A. I can't wait to soak up the summer rays which are so lacking in Melbourne's chilly winter.

Despite it being the middle of winter here in Australia, those following me on instagram (@friendinfashion), would know that I'm well and truly in summer packing mode.

This means, is that all I can think about are pretty pastels, short shorts and bikinis!

Needless to say, this outfit is channelling only one of the things I hope to be wearing a lot of in the next few weeks and that is lots of gorgeous colour.

These jeans via Aussie denim matriarch, Bettina Liano are the perfect summer hue, and will definitely be accompanying me on my travels.

There is something so feminine and luxe about lace.

It is one of my favourite fabrics to wear, and my friends at Lucette, have nailed it once again with this beautifully crafted lace shirt.

The perfect contrast against black or navy in winter, and I can't wait to style in the heat of the northern hemisphere soon, against white-washed denim.
