STREET SMITH

The other day, I had the pleasure of catching up with Melbourne street-style photographer, Street Smith for a few shots around our beautiful city.

I wanted to shoot my newest fashion acquisition, this incredible leather skirt, with perforated side detailing and new leopard heels.

I'm generally always drawn to a great leopard print, especially when it comes to accessories - a great way to add a statement easily to any outfit.

MONOCHROME

Monochrome Street Style on Friend in Fashion

My first couple of weeks moving back home have been chaotic, between meetings and house inspections, which has meant keeping my style as quick and easy as possible. With this in mind, monochrome is failsafe.

This sports-luxe dress is the perfect to throw on, when I'm on the go, and Vintage Princess have come through with the goods with this beautiful leather carry-all.

SUMMER WHITE

Summer All White fashion on Friend in Fashion Summer All White fashion on Friend in Fashion Summer All White fashion on Friend in Fashion Summer All White fashion on Friend in Fashion Summer All White fashion on Friend in Fashion

To me nothing sums up summer fashion more than white.

Last week, after a chaotic move back from overseas, I caught up with my good friend and Zoie boutique owner, for an impromptu shoot.

I couldn't resist styling this beautiful cutout halter neck top, with an always classic pencil skirt - all white of course.

The sun was shining and it was good to be back home in Melbourne after six month abroad.

As the saying goes... No one realises how beautiful it is to travel until she comes home and rests her head on her old, familiar pillow.

THE JUMPSUIT

I'm definitely a jumpsuit kind of girl and this one is beauty.

When I was in Los Angeles, I had the pleasure of picking my favourite pieces from local label, Flynn Skye and shooting with my girl Chanelle Leslie on Venice Beach.

This is the final instalment of our collaboration - check out part one (CALI GIRL) and part two (TEAM PARIS).

There's definitely something about LA which brings out my inner beach babe.

Sun in the sky, sand in my feet.

SUMMER PASTELS

I was recently invited by Wish to participate in their blogger style challenge.

For my look, I chose to style summer pastels, taking this very pretty Wish lace detailed tunic and teaming back with my favourite harem pants, neutral lace-up heels as well my favourite Celine trio bag.

The weather has started heating up here in Melbourne, which makes me even more happy to be back at home. Bring on summer!

TEAM PARIS

Flynn Skye dress | Team Paris sweater | ASOS shoes

As mentioned in my last post (HERE), when I was in LA last week, I teamed up with friend,  Chanelle Leslie, to shoot a California-inspired story. Here is part two.

In the last couple of years, I've been back and forth between LA and must say, it has quickly become one of my favourite cities. This time round, I chose to stay in the eclectic neighbourhood of Venice Beach, where I had the pleasure of meeting designer behind the label, Flynn Skye. An accomplished business woman, and genuinely kind and all round fabulous person.

Flynn Skye, represents the true essence of Venice Beach and the California-beach inspired lifestyle.

One of my favourite labels.

CALI GIRL

Flynn Skye pants | Calvin Klein top | Bijouterie jewels | American Apparel hat

Just before I left LA, I had the absolute pleasure of catching up with good friend, and fellow Aussie blogger/photographer/ all round amazing chic, Chanelle Leslie. We always seem to meet coincidentally in new cities - you can check out our last collaboration here, shot in Sydney.

We kicked off the day with THE most delicious acai bowls from one of my favourite cafe's along Abbot Kinney, before strolling along Venice Beach, to soak up the last of LA's summer rays.

One of the best things about travel for me is catching up with friends, new and old, sharing new

experiences, and of course creating memories in new and exciting locations.

A great day spent - here is part one of our impromptu California shoot.

NYC

Maurie & Eve shorts | Zara Top | Chanel Purse | Senso boots

I picked up this box cut top somewhere in between Paris and New York, and it has proven to be quite the travel partner. In the past, I'd generally steer clear of neutrals, opting for prints or colour, but having lived out of a single suit case for the last six months, I've learnt that neutral pieces really are a travellers best friend.

Add a pair of trusty boots, a classic Chanel and a splash of colour and you have the basis of unlimited outfits while on the road. Versatile and so easy to mix and match with the rest of my luggage.

POSTCARDS FROM MIAMI

My first trip to Miami was a couple of years ago and was a place I immediately fell in love with.

Always a must return when I'm in the States,  Miami is the perfect blend America, Latin culture and the beauty of the Caribbean.

For quick visits, I like to stay on South Beach, right in the heart of the action. I think some mistake South Beach for a party crazy part of Miami - it is definitely an experience, full of all sorts of nightlight and interesting characters, but it really is a great base to explore not only the South Beach area - shops, architecture and restaurants, but also greater Miami, and Florida Keys. South Beach for me is electric and eccentric.

This time I stayed at The Betsy Hotel, and absolutely stunning boutique hotel right on Ocean Drive. An oasis from what I affectionately refers to as Miami madness. Great rooms, lovely service and access to a private beach right on your front doorstep, which I definitely took full advantage of.

If you get the chance, I'd also highly recommend hiring a car and exploring surrounding Miami, including Key Biscayne, Bal Harbour (all your luxury shopping needs covered), and if you have a little more time, do yourselves a favour and make the 2.5/3 hour drive down to Key West, stopping at the many lovely and often secluded swim spots along the way.

Crystal blue waters, endless supply of palm trees and coconuts - a tropical wonderland.

In summary, when in Miami you MUST spend as much time sea-side as possible, water-sports mandatory, try some diverse and delicious and of course indulge in a little shopping.

FRIEND IN FASHION FOR CHIP CHOP!

A short while back, I had the opportunity of teaming up with one of my favourite Melbourne labels, Chip Chop to model their new 'blogger inspired' collection, #todayimwearing.

Channeling my 'inner-Cher' - think 90's Clueless, I had a ball, dressing up and again shooting with one of my favourite (and super-talented) photographers, Mishy Tran. Check out our first campaign collaboration here

Chip Chop is all things bright, fun and a little bit French, so I was thrilled to team up with a brand I simply J'Adore.

The new Chip Chop collection, is available online now at www.chipchop.com.au

As for my travels around the world - I've just landed in Rio and having the time of my life - more on this soon, but in the meantime - you can follow my adventure on instagram @friendinfashionfacebook and twitter.
