MONOCHROME

Monochrome Street Style on Friend in Fashion

My first couple of weeks moving back home have been chaotic, between meetings and house inspections, which has meant keeping my style as quick and easy as possible. With this in mind, monochrome is failsafe.

This sports-luxe dress is the perfect to throw on, when I'm on the go, and Vintage Princess have come through with the goods with this beautiful leather carry-all.

TEAM PARIS

Flynn Skye dress | Team Paris sweater | ASOS shoes

As mentioned in my last post (HERE), when I was in LA last week, I teamed up with friend,  Chanelle Leslie, to shoot a California-inspired story. Here is part two.

In the last couple of years, I've been back and forth between LA and must say, it has quickly become one of my favourite cities. This time round, I chose to stay in the eclectic neighbourhood of Venice Beach, where I had the pleasure of meeting designer behind the label, Flynn Skye. An accomplished business woman, and genuinely kind and all round fabulous person.

Flynn Skye, represents the true essence of Venice Beach and the California-beach inspired lifestyle.

One of my favourite labels.

NYFW STREET STYLE PART II

Here is a look at my outfit for day 2 of NYFW, snapped running between shows.

I'm a big fan of slogan tees, and Zoe Karssen is always a favourite of mine - as you can see here in this earlier blog post.

During fashion week, I had quite a few questions about this skirt, which is one I designed a short while ago while travelling through Bali.

A leather skirt is such a versatile piece, and has served me well through my travels.

PARIS STREET STYLE

There is something about a full skirt dress, that makes me want to spin circles and pick roses. The fact that I was in Paris taking these photos was the cherry on top.

Although quite detailed, this Free People dress is surprisingly versatile - worn with these beautiful Alice + Olivia heels or worn with my favourite New Balance sneakers & pea coat for a more urban twist.

If you've been following my instagram adventure (@friendinfashion) you'd see that i've arrived in New York. Another of my favourite cities in the world, which by no coincidence also coincides with NYFW.

Let the fashion week adventure begin!

BACK TO BASICS

Blumarine trench (similar here), Bassike tank, New Balance trainersChanel purse

The last few days exploring Oslo have been phenomenal. Despite the rain, this has been such a great city to visit, with great natural and built beauty, fabulously friendly people and great design.

After almost four months on the road - my time in Europe is almost up.

One last stop in Paris, before two months exploring The Americas: NewYork, Brazil and Argentina.

I'd love to hear any of your own travel tips - so feel free to tweet, insta or email me.

STOCKHOLM STREET STYLE

Summer in Stockholm, has meant, small bursts of sunshine, but mainly cloudy skies and cooler weather - very different to my last few months of Island living across Croatia and Greece.

The benefit of this - an excuse for more shopping (not that I ever struggle with this).

ACNE is probably one of Sweden's biggest fashion exports, so I couldn't pass up on this perfect trans-seasonal ACNE sweater dress, when I hit the shops in Stockholm. The perfect pairing for my Balenciaga heels.

From Stockholm, I'm off to Oslo for a few days, before some rest and relaxation in my beloved Paris - oui oui!

STATEMENT PIECES

Mossman peplum jacket / Robina Akiem bubble skirt / Bahagia rings / Claire Aristides bracelet

As I start experimenting more and more with monochrome, to add interest to an outfit, I've also enjoyed styling outfits with different shapes and silhouettes.

Ordinarily I'd team a peplum with a skinny pant or pencil skirt, but I this bubble skirt, from local designer, Robina Akiem, jumped out at me and was too good to resist.

Peplum meet the bubble skirt.

MELBOURNE STREET STYLE

One of the best things about Melbourne is the way the city embraces street art and culture. A maze of alleyways throughout the city invites you to explore on foot, the amazing sights, tastes, and of course boutique fashion, which is at the heart of this bustling metropolis.

Hosier lane, where these pictures were taken has to be one of my favourites, characterised by walls plastered with the work of artists from here, there and everywhere. Every time I walk through there is something new to uncover.

Last week, my friends at ZOIE, invited me to again, select my collection favourites to style and model for their latest summer '13 lookbook.

Stepping away from my usual style, I thought I'd grunge my look up a tiny bit, pump up the lip colour and play around with my favourite prints, colours and of course shapes.

Here is part one of our collaboration. Stay tuned for more coming soon.

Sneak peeks, as always via instagram @friendinfashion

These bustier crop tops - proved to be my collection highlights. I especially love them styled with high waisted skirts.

MBFWA STREET STYLE | ALEXANDER WANG

Alexander Wang Street Style on Friend in Fashion

Alexander Wang jumper dress & cape shoes, Urbanears headphones

Day 4 of Mercedes Benz Fashion week saw me head to toe in Alexander Wang, very kindly borrowed from the gorgeous B.

I was thrilled to have my outfit captured by my favourite Australian street style photographer Lee Oliveira, as well as this killer shoe detail shot by Liz Mcleish.

I'm so excited to soon share the short film I was involved in for the Toni & Guy 'Blogged & Bound' project. Check back Friday for your first look.

LADY LEOPARD

Join Friend in Fashion on: BLOGLOVIN ~ FACEBOOK ~ PINTEREST ~ TWITTER

Dear friends,

I've long been a fan of a strong printed trouser, and these leopard print jeans are no exception. They look just as fantastic styled with a clashing print shirt as they do with this chic black Karl pullover.

Next weekend, I'm off to Sydney for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and I'll definitely be taking this outfit with me. I'm looking forward to some incredible shows and meeting some fabulous fashionistas, as always sharing my adventure along the way.

I'm wearing:
Karl sweatshirt, via NET A PORTER
Volcom jeans
Tony Bianco shoes
